1. WE DON'T EAT ENOUGH VEGETABLES AND FRUITS.

Less than 10% of the population eats 5 servings a day. Fresh vegetables and fruits supply many health-enhancing and disease-preventing substances, including enzymes, minerals, vitamins, antioxidants (which protect against cellular deterioration and prevent diseases, including cancer), and phytonutrients. Eating plenty of vegetables and fruits can also help overcome other dietary problems.

2. WE EAT TOO MUCH SUGAR

Diabetes and blood sugar problems caused by eating too much sugar are almost at epidemic proportions and contribute to many other diseases as well.

3. WE SKIP TOO MANY MEALS

Without regular meals the body must constantly borrow nutrients from muscles, bones and vital organs to maintain the proper nutrient balance in the blood. Skipping a meal and depending upon stimulants such as coffee, soda, sweets, or Power Bars to momentarily pump up your blood sugar creates new and deeper problems.

4. THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS EAT AN UNBALANCED DIET

One or more of the three basic foods (protein, carbohydrates, and fat) is out of balance in most American's diet. Some eat too little or too much protein. Some scrupulously avoid fat and are deficient, whereas others eat it to excess. But worst of all, as a nation, we eat far too many carbohydrates, especially processed and fast food carbs. Excessive carbs can also cause blood sugar imbalances and slow down our metabolisms, leading to fatigue and weight gain. Consequently, a large majority of adults lack energy and/or are overweight. (from the book, The Diet Cure, by Juia Ross M.A.)

Most diets focus strictly on your "caloric intake". They teach you to restrict your carbohydrate intake to bring about rapid weight loss Sucessful, right? WRONG!

The weight you lose is MOSTLY WATER, which was trapped with stored carbohydrates, and eventually muscle, as it is broken down to produce glucose. Knowing what carbohydrate you are ingesting is CRITICAL! One Snickers Bar has the same amount of carbohydrate as two ounces of pasta! Most people would not eat four Snickers Bars at one sitting, but, would have no problem eating eight ounces of pasta!

YOUR STOMACH CAN'T TELL THE DIFFERENCE!

The worst part is when you go off one of those "fad" diets and start to eat "regularly," your body says, "I better store more of this food as fat in case of another famine"; the fad diet. This process has become known as the "yo-yo" effect.

Our meals contain appropriate nutrient proportions, adequate protein, heart-healthy fats, and low Glycemic carbohydrates!
